Hello, I 'm Mikayla
AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist
Certified Canadian Counsellor
A Winnipeg-based sex therapist and counsellor who believes in tender, sometimes messy, deep human healing. My work guides people like you to lean into the mind–body connection, let go of shame, and reclaim your capacity for pleasure, confidence, and connection.
My work is body-aware, emotionally intuitive, and rooted in tuning into your nervous system, to your inner parts, and to the stories you’ve been carrying. I help people slow down, feel safe, and explore the parts of themselves that want attention, curiosity, and care.
WHY THIS WORK MATTERS
Your relationship with your sexuality affects everything. How you communicate. How you trust. How you move through the world. How you show up in your body. When you do this work, it shapes your relationships, your self-esteem, your boundaries, your confidence, and your capacity for connection and pleasure.
We might start with sex. We rarely stay there.
YOUR VIBE
You’re brave, curious, and ready to do the work. Maybe you’ve carried shame or fear around your desires. Maybe you overthink or feel disconnected from your body. That’s okay, that’s exactly who I work with.
MY APPROACH
I bring a steady, grounded presence mixed with a little chaos, humour, and authenticity. I swear sometimes. I laugh often. I believe in going slow when needed, deep when it helps, and exploring the body’s wisdom without forcing anything.
What We Tend Together
Areas of Support

RECLAIMING YOUR AUTHENTIC SEXUAL SELF
You weren’t born feeling disconnected, ashamed, or uncertain about your desires. Over time, experiences, messages, and relationships can pull you away from yourself. This work is about finding your way back, not to who you “should” be, but to what feels honest, alive, and true for you.

LOVE, INTIMACY & RELATIONSHIP PATTERNS
Humans are wired for connection, in all its forms. Whether you’re navigating partnership, polycule dynamics, dating, friendship, or self-trust, we explore what gets in the way of closeness and how to create relationships that feel safer, more spacious, and more nourishing.

HEALING SEXUAL SHAME
Shame is learned. It’s shaped by culture, family, religion, trauma, and silence. Together, we gently unpack the messages you’ve absorbed about sex, desire, and worth, making room for compassion, choice, and a softer relationship with yourself.

SOMATIC AWARENESS & AGENCY
We often live from the neck up, disconnected from sensation, intuition, and bodily cues. This work supports you in rebuilding trust with your body, learning its language, and developing a felt sense of safety, awareness, and agency from the inside out.

WHOLE PERSON CARE
Your sexuality doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Stress, mental health, physical wellbeing, identity, spirituality, and community all shape how you experience pleasure and connection. We take a whole-person view, honoring the many layers of your life that influence how you feel and function.

CULTIVATING RESILIENCE & CAPACITY
Life will keep lifing. This work helps you build the internal steadiness to meet challenges without losing yourself. Resilience here isn’t about pushing through, but about expanding your capacity to feel, adapt, repair, and return to yourself when things get hard.

A PLACE TO BELONG
There are lots of ways to connect with my work, and my email list is one of them.
It’s where I share new blog posts, guided meditations, embodiment practices, and the occasional video, along with honest reflections on sex, relationships, nervous systems, and living a little closer to yourself. Think grounded tools, thoughtful insights, and writing that invites curiosity rather than perfection.
It’s real, intentional, sometimes a little unfiltered, and always written with care. No pressure, no noise, just an ongoing conversation about pleasure, healing, and being human.
